[Hackrf-dev] Problems installing Pentoo to boot from hard drive (C:\)

I have install Pentoo on a thumb drive using UNetbootin and it boots just
fine on three computers.
However, when I use UNetbootin to install the same iso to a local c:\ hard
drive I'm having problems. It starts and lets me pick windows or Pentoo but
the Pentoo stops loading saying it can't find a CD-ROM or other external
boot device. I have this same issue on 3 computers, the same 3 computers
that boot Pentoo just fine from the thumb drive.

What am I doing wrong?
