All sorts of things like that have been done.
Hacked key fobs, RF light controllers, etc
Essentially anything RF can be recorded and then "played back" over your transmitter later to do the same action. The exceptions are things that use some kind of time stamp or are session based. Be careful to NOT do anything illegal. The police are not overly friendly towards that sort of thing.

I agree. It seems like it would have been one of the first things people would have pursued but I guess we are in the minority.

I can't wait until I'm able to capture a signal and replay via Windows (maybe it's been done already.) I have seen the use of HackRF using linux to unlock the TESLA fuel door - would be similar to that, just in Windows.

I've done it under cygwin. Certainly wasn't trivial but its doable.

Unfortinoatly windows is not hackrf happy place but as time pases there will be something that will let you record IQ data and then retransmitt it back
PS: I think you can install GNU radio on windows but I dont know how to add out of tree projecrs to it like gr-drm or gr-rds or gr-ads
If you found any way of installing GNU Radio 3.7 with HackRF osmocom source and sink and adding Out of tree project on it I and I'm sure that a lot of people would be very happy to hear how you do it
Good luck and Best Regards

I know Record and playback is easy in Linux, but not seeing anything in window. GNURADIO radio will let you run two hackRF? Possible a DSP in between?
