Thank you for your responses hert
I have been running a spectrum analyzer app for 17 hours and still running.  I made the following changes:
   - Updated the HackRF firmware
   - Updated the HackRF driver software on the Beaglebone. I did a "git clone" of the HackRF git repository, then executed cmake in the host directory.
   - Put the beaglebone on it's own power supply. Previously the Beaglebone, HackRF, Micro wireless router and USB to wireless dongle had all been powered by Belkin 4 port USB hub.

I plan to check out my two other HackRF radios with this same configuration.
The sample rate is 10 MHz. The failure mode was that the HackRF was that it stopped responding and had to be reset. The radio lights stayed on but the blinking stopped.
Another item to be considered is providing a stable 10 MHz clock to the HackRF clock port.

I have been using the HackRF One for a year with no problems. We recently purchased another three units. All three die after five to thirty minutes when operated continuously with a spectrum analyzer app. I have loaded the latest HRF firmware. The unit is well vented. I have replaced the micro USB cable. The USB connection is via a powered USB hub.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Does the first HackRF have the version of firmware as the 3 new HackRFs?

If it doesn't, you may have to upgrade it and the HackRF software, i.e.,
the library and tools.
