We're celebrating it from 11am to 4pm at the Jackie Robinson Recreation Center, Bradhurst Avenue at 146th Street in Manhattan. You're invited! Lunch, games, prizes, film and a birthday cake. Free to Harlem Little League families. Sixty years before Barack Obama ran for President, Jackie Robinson broke another color barrier by being the first African-American to play in the Major Leagues. Many attribute Mr. Robinson's success as an important milestone in the struggle for recognition, justice, equal rights and equal opportunity in America. Please come celebrate Jackie Robinson's Birthday. Lest we forget. *Free Educational Theatre for Students in Grades 9-12* It is time for the third season of Keen Teens to begin and we have begun inviting students to participate. In our first two seasons, over 60 students from the New York City area have made their Off-Broadway debuts in our World Premiere productions and our first six plays have been published and are being produced by high schools around the country. Keen Teens is a unique opportunity for students in grades 9-12 to work in a professional theater setting and help develop plays written exclusively for them. No prior experience or training is required. Only a curiousity about acting and theatre and a commitment to our process. Students who have worked with us continue to come back and bring their friends. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity. If you know any high school students, or anyone who works or teaches at a high school in the New York City area, please distribute this information. For more information please visit http://www.keencompany.org/teens.html and to read some of the plays from our first two seasons, visit http://www.Playscripts.com Since we are still a young program, the best success we have had finding interested students has always been through word of mouth, so your help is extremely appreciated. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
