I am interested in others' thoughts about using the validity coefficient
from extreme-groups that have not been cross-validated when reporting
the criterion-related validation of selection devices. I am reviewing a
validation report and find this approach troubling since the actual
validity coefficient for the population is likely to be much lower then
the report would imply.
