[IPAC-List] test methods and weights

Hello, I am trying to compile some information -- informally and fairly 
quickly -- on some test method use and weighting issues, specifically, 
the extent to which (a) job knowledge tests, assessment 
centers/exercises, and situational judgment tests, and (b) job knowledge 
tests and assessment centers/exercises are used in fire and police 
testing and when they are used, the relative weights assigned to them.  
Hence, if you are in a position to do so, I hope you can take a few 
moments to answer the following questions for me?  I will, of course, 
post a compilation of the information that I get.  Thank you very much!

And BTW, could you please respond directly to me (w-arthur at neo.tamu.edu)

1.  Are you responding as a test/assessment developer/consultant, or as 
a member of an assessment/HR group of a municipality?


2(a).  Do you use the following test methods (in combination as listed) 
for police or fire testing  --  job knowledge tests (multiple-choice), 
assessment center/exercises, and situational judgment tests?


2(b).  For your response to 2(a), can you please indicate whether it is 
in reference to police, fire, or both?


2(c).  In reference to 2(a) and 2(b), what ranks (e.g., fire captain, 
fire senior captain, etc.) are these three (3) test methods used for?


2(d).  In reference to 2(c), what are the relative weights of these 
three (3) test methods for each rank for which they are used?
