Hogan’s SafeSystem is still around…there is a lot of information on the Hogan Assessments website and they market it at SIOP.
There are also a number of other personality based safety assessments out there.

Mike –

A few years ago Hogan was validating a personality instrument to assess safety and risk for jobs in a variety of settings.  I sat in on a session at either IPAC or SIOP, but don’t have the details anymore.  As I recall, the early results seemed promising.  I have not heard anything about it since, so the assessment may have fizzled out or I may just not be in the right circle these days.

I am not a big fan of personality testing due to applicant faking, but I have an electric utility client who has asked me to locate and review  personality tests for a system control operator. These folks manage the transmission of electricity.
The test could be more generic than this job job and focus on safety or reliability or tolerance of stress in a multitasking work.
