I came across the following statement and was wondering whether there is a high level of agreement among IO psychologists regarding its accuracy.

Most of the validity data demonstrating the strong connection between cognitive test scores and job performance come from two specific cognitive tests: the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) and the General Aptitude Test Battery (GATB).

Do you all consider this to be true?

Also, when you speak of cognitive tests, do you include tests of job knowledge and tests of abilities such as reading, writing, and analysis? Or do you consider those another type of test?

Thanks!
