Hello Mike,

I got kidnapped for a tech free weekend by my husband (belated Valentine).
My calendar was clear, so he did not know I had promised a reply.  Sorry.
I hope the following helps.

*Q.   i) **Do you have any documentation on the use of the measure in
applicant testing that addresses the effects of faking to look good on test
scores and,*


*A. i)  I believe the documentation you are referring to, is more related
to psychometric assessments which are normative or criteria-based.  The
ability to fake on these types of assessment is very important to know, as
the results being compared others, for significance.*

*Since Motivation is not a skill, the assessment is ipsative, that is,
scored against oneself.  While this is not a recommended method for skills
based tests, it works for MAPs, as motivation represents a personal level
of energy. Map provides an overall measurement on a person’s level of
energy, and also breaks it down at to how this mental energy is distributed
between relationships, achievement and growth.*

*While there are ways of spotting someone trying to play games with the
assessment, in reality, we emphasize to them that they are faking against
themselves. If someone does try to mislead you this can open a whole new
conversation.  Out of 125,000 assessments, the founder has noted that only
about 20 people were trying to fake it.  *


*ii) whether the instrument, in applicant settings, predicts job
performance?*



*A ii) As you know there are a number of variables contributing to
performance.  What I can say is that there is a high correlation between
motivation levels and performance.  Motivation Map measures the full
spectrum of energy/motivation.  There are some psychometric assessments
which can measure up to 40% of motivation, and only in one aspect of it.
