Climate Change, Our Coast, and Repowering Louisiana,
Environmental & Consumer Groups host Congressman Cao and others to discuss
the future of Louisiana (for more info: bcohenderson at aol.com)
On April 15th, New Orleans citizens are coming together for a day of
education and dialogue on global climate change, Louisiana’s energy challenge, the
need for coastal restoration and how our community can best address it.
The Gulf Restoration Network, 1Sky, the Sierra Club, the Alliance for
Affordable Energy, and the Loyola University Community Action Program (LUCAP)
will host a town hall forum on climate change, coastal restoration and our
energy future. The panel will feature Congressman Joseph Cao, New Orleans City
Council Member Shelly Midura, Monique Harden of Advocates for Environmental
Human Rights, Dr. Sarah Mack, an environmental and public health specialist,
and other prominent local leaders to discuss these vital issues.
This event highlights that doing more of the same is not only dangerous to
the health of our coast s, but it won't solve our problems. Embracing clean
energy options and efficiency measures can accelerate the transition to new
energy while creating new jobs, spurring investment in new industries and
curb the effects of global climate change.
WHO Congressman Joseph Cao, Councilwoman Shelly Midura, Monique Harden of
Advocates for Environmental Human Rights and others to address solutions to
our energy challenges.
