APRIL 28: New Orleans Healing Justice Program Holds FREE
Community Forum to Combat School-to-Prison Pipeline
 
WHAT: The first in a series of community forums by the New Orleans Healing 
Justice Program which will bring together youth and social advocacy groups 
to identify the roll of racism in the School-to-Prison Pipeline and create a 
focused dialogue to build a bridge of trust between youth of color and law 
enforcement
 
WHEN:   Tuesday, April 28, 7 – 9 p.m.
 
WHERE: Sojourner Truth Community Center, 2200 Lafitte St. in downtown New 
Orleans
 
WHO: The American Friends Service Committee, in conjunction with Families 
and Friends of Louisiana Incarcerated Children, the Juvenile Justice Project 
of Louisiana, Critical Resistance, the Office of Orleans Parish Public 
Defenders, American Civil Liberties Union, Southern Poverty Law Clinic, and Youth 
Empowerment 
 
WHY:   Organizers seek to address head-on the terrible “sentence” imposed 
by prejudice and racism as it concerns minority youth and to identify 
actions which will insure justice for all.
