Cao Calls for Congressional Hearings on Oil Leak     
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Anh "Joseph" Cao called for two Congressional hearings into the oil leak from last week's explosion and fire on an offshore rig in the Gulf of Mexico.
Cao sent letters requesting the hearings to the chairmen and ranking members of both the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. 
Cao said he wants the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to focus on the environmental impact of the spill, which has created a slick about the size of the state of Rhode Island in the Gulf, posing a threat to Louisiana's already-fragile coastline.
The Congressman said he wants the Oversight and Government Reform Committee to focus on the federal management and inspection of offshore oil rigs such as the Deepwater Horizon, which sank two days after the explosion that critically injured four workers and left 11 others missing.
