LEAN's Executive Director is honored to serve on a committee for LA's Climate Task Force. This work is necessary and so is your input.

| LEAN's Executive Director, Marylee Orr, has been asked to serve on the Manufacturing and Industry Committee of Governor John Bel Edward's Climate Initiatives Task Force. Marylee is honored to have the opportunity to provide input on this historic and necessary initiative for Louisiana. LEAN and Marylee's work has largely centered on addressing challenges between communities and industrial stakeholders in Louisiana's complicated landscape. As one of the few non-corporate voices on the Manufacturing and Industry Committee, Marylee's input is extremely valuable.   |

| |

| Marylee brings over 30 years of experience working to resolve environmental challenges that threaten the health, safety and quality of life of communities across Louisiana.

Despite these decades of work, and the unprecedented challenges of 2020, she is not slowing down. In addition to serving on the committee for Louisiana's Climate Initiative Task Force, Marylee serves on the Executive Committee of Together Baton Rouge, and the Community Advisory Board of LSU and Pennington Biomedical Research Center's RADx-UP initiative working to better understand Covid-19 patterns amongst underserved and vulnerable populations.   |

| We are proud of Marylee's work and hope you are too. As friend of LEAN and Marylee, we are asking you to do two things: |

| 1. Send us your thoughts about Climate Change in Louisiana and what meaningful actions the Governor's Task Force can take? |

| 2. Support LEAN with a tax deductible donation in honor of the experienced female leadership Marylee brings to LEAN, LA's Climate Task Force and all the initiatives she continues to serve on. |

| LEAN's been working hard to provide as much input as possible to ensure the climate Task Force is able to make our state an example of Climate leadership. Below are just a few of our initial thoughts related to the Manufacturing and Industry committee. We'd love to hear your suggestions as well. |

| TASK FORCE SUGGESTION Examples
   - The LDEQ state air permitting process needs to include a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) component at every opportunity.
   - Ensure the Updated State Greenhouse Gas Inventory is comprehensive and thorough with the most recent available data for all sources and sinks.
   - Compile individual climate policies of companies working in Louisiana.
   - Greenhouse gas reduction strategies in all sectors should be measurable/quantifiable, and include assessment of human risks and local environmental impacts.
   - Emissions reductions should be the primary goal of every industry but those reductions should also be accompanied by local investments in mitigation efforts to address impacts in the communities in which they are located, ie. flood protection / adaptations.
