At 203 homicides to date, we have officially surpassed the total number of homicides (201) in all of 2020. 

   - This represents an increase of 142% over 2019 and a 46% increase over 2021
   - The highest increase of any major violent crime type relative to 2021

Nonfatal shooting incidents remain 9% lower than 2021

   - In 2022, 32% of all shooting incidents resulted in a fatality, compared with 24% in 2021
   - Overall shootings (fatal + nonfatal) are 2% higher relative to 2021

Carjacking had a resurgence this past week, with 11 new incidents reported – four of these incidents occurred within a 2-hour period on Monday, September 5th

   - This brings us back to a 12% increase over 2021, 99% increase over 2020, and 211% higher than 2019 –
   - The highest increase of any major violent crime type relative to 2019

Armed robbery remains 42% higher than the same time last year, 57% higher than 2020 (lockdown year), and 28% higher than 2019 (pre-pandemic)
