I just noticed that Entourage appears to be on Daylight Savings Time still.
All my emails are showing one hour later than the actual time now that DST
is over.  My Mac is showing the correct time, as are all other programs I?ve
checked.

So how do I get Entourage to recognize the change?

On further inspection, I notice that items in my sent folder show the right
time, but items in my inbox are off by one hour.  I am using an exchange
server, so possibly the problem is there?

Some users have reported until they quit and restarted Entourage the time
change did not take effect. Could be the same with your server.

That worked.  Actually needed to restart Entourage and my Mac to get

Well unfortunately you can't. When you enable SYncServices, an  
Entourage calendar is automatically created for you in iCal. You can't  
change that :-\

Outlook contacts allows me to do a quick search of contacts including names
tha t  may be in the Notes section of the contact card. Is there a way to do
that with entourage???

In the Finder, press command-f to create a new Spotlight search  
window. You can search for a note and once you find it, take not of  
the "kind" for Entourage notes. For Entoruage 2008 it is vrge08_note.
You can repeat the operation, but this time don't enter anything for  
the content you search for. Instead, click on the plus sugn allowing  
you to add search criteria and select Kind Other and enter the kind  
for Entourage notes (again, for Entourage 2008 it would be  
vrge08_note. I can't confirm for 2004 since I no longer have it).

This search should return all the notes you have in Entourage. You can  
save this search on the desktop.
Double-clicking the saved search allows you to specifically search on  
notes, and you can further restric the searches by entering a content  
to search for.

Woudl that suit your needs??

Use Spotlight "kind" Keywords (kind:email, kind:emails, kind:mail message,

I have Leopard and Mac Office and use Entourage as my default mail and
calendar program. I am having difficulty figuring out how to schedule an e
mail to go out at a specific time and date in the future. It is not a
calendar event but an e mail I need to send no later or earlier than a time
and date.
On a PC office product this is easy but there is nothing in Entourage that I
can see.

I have an MS Access 2007 for windows app that uploads image files
(jpg's) to a windows server. When a file is uploaded by a user I want to
automatically generate an email which contains a clickable link to the
folder to the image files are easily accessible. The person receiving
the emails has a mac and uses entrouage which I know very little about.

But when the guy gets the email he can not click and see the files in

I think you can just highlight the incorrect address and hit the delete key to remove it from the nicknames file. That is if entourage works like outlook.

Here?s a problem I need help with. When I create a new message, as soon as I
type in the first few letters of the address a drop-down menu brings up
addresses that accord with the first few letters I have typed. Among them
are junk mail addresses that I would like to delete from that menu. How do I
do that?

You need to Click on Entourage then Preferences then locate the section
named "Mail News and Preferences" then choose compose then click the "clear"
button located under "Recent Addresses"

Does anyone know how to find the size of locally stored email in
Entourage? That is, the size of everything under "Folders on my
Computer?" I know I can check the size of the database itself, but we
use Exchange server and I assume the db size also includes caches of
what's stored on the Exchange server. Probably extra space too, if the
db is not regularly compacted.

Any info would be appreciated!

Try compiling and running the following script. It displays a dialog
in Entourage with the results, which you can copy to the clipboard if
you wish. It takes a few seconds to run, depending on how many folders
and messages you have, since it has to get the physical size of each
individual message.

Hi All,

 

I'm moving a couple people from Mac to Windows, and they'd like to keep
their archived email. That is, I need to move mail from Entourage
(stored locally) to PST file(s) on a PC. We are using Exchange 2003 on
the back-end.

I've done some research and found a few scripts that claim to do this
somewhat decently, or I can use Exchange. Instead of increasing the
person's mailbox size on Exchange (archive size is over 1.5gb), I have
created a public folder to use to transfer mail. I will transfer from
Entourage to the public folder, then from the folder to a PST file on
the Windows PC.

The problem: dates/times are not preserved. Anything copied or moved
looks fine on the Mac side, but from the PC everything shows the date of
transfer (today) rather than the original received/sent date.

 

Does anyone know a way around this? Or a better way to migrate mail from
Entourage to Outlook on a Windows PC?

Sort by sent instead of received.

Check out this page for tips on moving from Mac to PC. Most of the info we
have goes the other way. :-)

Thanks, Diane ? unfortunately, I still get the same result. Both sent and
received dates/times show the date and time that I copied the message,
rather than the original sent or received date of the email.

If I copy up to an Exchange mailbox rather than to a public folder, the date
is preserved correctly... Strange...
Maybe I?ll just temporarily increase the mailbox size for this migration.

I see from the header you have not upgraded Entourage.

The sound problem was fixed in an early upgrade.

Download and install 12.1.0 (SP1), 12.1.3 and 12.1.4. Make sure that the SP1
updated the Microsoft AutoUpdater. It should be v2.2.

The Office 2008 MAU is now hidden away.

You need a minimum of 10% of your disk space as "free space." There are
