[IPAC-List] iPad-Based Testing

One of the improvements I'd like to see for the iPad is the ability to turn it to landscape mode and display two iPhone-sized apps next to each other, with both functioning. In theory this should not be a difficult addition now that there is multi-tasking.

While I'd like this so I can look at web pages and write notes about them, etc., this would be very good for iPad-based testing as well. It would allow a test application to run next to an exhibit or tool like a calculator.

Just a thought...

We started offering applicants the option of testing on their smart-phones for a client, in the past 12 months about 10% of applicants have chosen that option.

It would probably work for the iPad (Nook, too?) too, but I'm not sure if we've looked into the specifically... interesting suggestion.

All of this has got me thinking.

There have been many informative discussions, here and at conferences,
regarding the pros and cons of unproctored on-line testing.

I wonder if now isn't a good time (albeit on another thread, since this
is about computer-assisted testing) to begin dialog about testing on
smart-phones, given how commonplace they have become, how many have
web-capabilities, and how many people will probably want to use them as
their principle text device.
