Although I am usually a silent reader, please keep the IPAC-List, I fully enjoyed it.

As Deb Whetzel noted in the January ACN, we're in the process of creating an improved IPAC website (pardon our dust!). As part of some platform/hosting changes associated with that effort, IPAC-List has been impacted.

At first, I thought that we'd have to discontinue the list; however, it looks like it will be able to survive with a few changes.

One change is to our list archive. We no longer can run all of the back-end software that created our own message archive and provided a search engine specifically for it. I'm not sure whether I'll be able to change that or not. I'm now using the archiving system built into the listserv software itself, which works fine -- just no built-in search.

On a more positive note, I've been able to increase the message size limit for the list, and (reasonably sized) attachments to messages can now be sent to the list.

Regarding the future of IPAC-List, I (and the IPAC Board) am interested in your thoughts. We have seen membership and activity on the list decrease over the years. Is it indeed worth keeping if possible, or is it redundant with our LinkedIn group? What value does it provide to you?

Comments are welcomed...
