ICE's /Guidelines for Performance Examinations/ - Public Comment Period

The Institute for Certification Excellence (ICE) Research and
Development Committee is in the process of preparing a guidance document
on performance examinations. ICE expects that credentialing
organizations will refer to the document, /Guidelines for Performance
Examinations,/ as a means of understanding the fundamental psychometric
principles as they relate to performance examinations as well as the
accepted methods for their development, validation, and use in
credentialing programs. The guidance document updates the /Guidelines
for Non-Written Examinations/ that was published by the National
Commission for Certifying Agencies in 1991.

ICE is inviting its members and any other key parties and relevant
stakeholder groups to provide input on the guidance document. *We hope
you will share your thoughts with us during the public comment period,
which will be open through September 15, 2010.*

Your participation in this review is important to ensure that the final
document, when it is published, represents a concise and accurate
summary of the essential properties of performance examinations when
used in credentialing.
